Macdonald Cabins - Kinlochleven

Nice location, nice cabins. Unfortunately, not all showers and toilets were operational and clean and there were dead flies and bugs on the bed in the room as well as dirty nose wipes under the bed. Bed linen must be purchased. Rooms: 2 Service: 2 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Great view

About what you would expect for the price. Pretty far from the town but close to the whw route. We took a cabin, it was more spacious than other places we stayed at. Bedsheets not included but a sleeping bag can be rented. The food in the pub is ok but not great. Showers and toilets are shared but pretty comfortable and somewhat cleaner than I expected. There was no option to buy breakfast in the morning even though the dining room was empty. They ended up giving us a pretty bad coffee for 2.5 pounds. Nearby activities: The furthest place from the town center, so not much to do there without walking for 15 minutes Food drinks: We took a pizza in the pub, it wasn't great. We also couldn't buy breakfast or coffee in the morning.

Staff unfriendly, poor hygiene in the toilets and showers, many broken or not working. Mattresses dirty, mosquito screens broken, poop smell everywhere, breakfast outrageously expensive, light in the toilets broken, not as stated on the website: no kettle, no chair(s), no TV, no washing machine, when you had questions the staff didn't even look at you , not a pleasant reception and checkout. Exploitation of the hotel cabins, collecting as much money as possible with as few facilities/service as possible.

Stunning location and if you stay in the cabins like I did be sure to take your own sleeping bag. If you forget, the hotel does hire them out. The cabin I stayed in had 4 bunks and had pillows were provided. Tea/coffee making facilities and a television are also available. Toilets and showers were in a block for all cabin users and those camping along with dishwashing facilities. Stunning views from one part of the car park. There is a bothy (small dining area) and bar but these close around 9/10pm.
