Lucky kingston. I had lunch last night. this is the best Thai food I had. we had the $12 lunch special it was just the right size and very well presented. I had the green chicken curry and they kindly gave me fresh chili. support this local business so that it is here next time to visit.
We walked in without a booking as it was off season but realise that if it was peak season, a booking would be essential, Reason? We took an instant liking to the friendly staff and the cosy atmosphere of the restaurant. We ordered some simple dishes i.e. fried rice, fried noodles and tom yum soup and was not disappointed with any of them. Would certainly go back again, on our next visit to this beautiful island of Tasmania.
This is one of our favourites for a light lunch - flavours are always fresh and clean The salt and pepper calamari is succulent and not at all tough. Prawn dumplings are full of meat and the duck is a great plate to share
We haven't had Thai food at a restaurant in over a year so we went out tonight to a local Thai place. We hadn't seen the menu or know anyone that had been there so we went in blind. We were given a warm welcome and given an option of tables to choose from. The restaurant was very clean and tidy.We ordered two cokes which we received promptly. For entree we ordered the vegetable spring rolls (5 off) and the satay chicken (3 off). The flavors were clean and crisp. For mains we ordered Pad See Ew and Chicken satay stir fry. The pad see ew was very good as this is a favourite and i have had it many time at other restaurants here and Thailand. The chicken satay stir fry was very fresh and clean tasting, not heavy with oil. This meal did not come with rice, this was extra. We found that some of the chicken and vegetables pieces were too large too eat with a spoon and fork.We both agreed that the portion size versus the meal price was either too small on the meal or too expensive for the price. My Pad See Ew was a normal household cereal bowl serving for i think $18. So the reason behind 3 stars for such a good meal was value for money. For a suburban restaurant it was too expensive. On leaving i saw a notice on the wall near the cash register that as of 1st March 2017 that the prices will be going up due to the suppliers increasing prices 15 - 20%. If the full 20% is added on my Pad see ew will become $21.60 for a bowl of noodles. So for an already expensive menu i would not consider going back as it will be an even more expensive in a few days time.
