Frankie Pestos Italian eatery

Stopped in for dinner with M'lady and ordered a spicy sausage pasta with a glass of house wine, she ordered Mac & Cheese. The seating and service was acceptable. The music and decorum would suggest you were at an Italian eatery if you didn't look at the sign on the way in. The prices were a little on the high side for such standard fare. The Pasta had way too much sun dried tomato in it, the creamy salad dressing on the Cesare was to thick. As is my custom a rating based on what's important to me whilst eating out.6/10

Right away, I was blown away by the atmosphere of the restaurant. The inside was really lovely and true Italian style! We ended up sitting on the front patio and were serenaded by Italian music. I really enjoyed it and it felt super authentic. Our server was wonderful and quite quick with bringing us food and drinks. All of our dishes came with a Caesar salad to start and it was AWESOME. It was totally vegetarian and I devoured it instantly. However, I was a bit disappointed by my actual meal. It was very bland and had little taste. It was also a bit runny. My parents enjoyed their meal, however, so perhaps it was just my experience. Overall, I had a good time here. I would just get the Caesar salad next time or go for drinks. Everything is right downtown, so it's a perfect location if you want to shop or just walk by the water afterwards!

Too many people on vacation head to restaurants with familiar names that can be found in their home cities. I have done the same and don’t know why. I guess everyone craves the familiar. However, when you think about it, it’s a waste. Last year we found one a real treasure among Kingston’s many fines restaurants. As a result, there was no question we would return to Frankie Pesto’s when we returned to Kingston this year. They do not take reservations, but we had no problems getting a table and in deciding whether to eat on the patio or inside, there really was no decision. We could sit outside and watch the cars go by or enjoy the restaurant’s beautiful ambiance. We decided on the latter option. I have to say, this second visit to Frankie Pesto’s was even better than our first last year. Service was perfect, everything arrived when it should and we were not rushed at any time during our meal. Both our meals were delicious. There was plenty of food on our plates, actually more than enough for one meal. If we had a cooler, we would probably have taken it with us as I hate to leave delicious food.The only disappointing part of our evening is that it had to come to an end. However, if and when we are back in Kingston, we are sure to return to Frankie Pesto’s.

The best Italian Restaurant in Kingston, the food was excellent, service fantastic, atmosphere wonderful, and the best prices we have seen in a long time..

I don't remember the exact name of this dish but it was spaghetti and meatballs. Although very good, I found the sauce to be scarce, making the meal a little dry. The mixed greens salad with vinegrette was fine.
