Knotty Pine Restaurants - Kincardine

We really enjoyed our meal. We were looking for a breakfast place and had not had any food. We got a lot of food, and it was delicious. Although we ordered breakfast, they served us soup while we were waiting for our order.They are a lovely family, and the service was fast and wonderful. The price was also right.

We stopped for lunch at the Knotty Pine on our way home from Kincardine. Both of us had the dinner combo that had General Tso Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Chop Suey. It came with two vegetable spring rolls. I also ordered a Hot and Sour Soup.The food was quite good and the portions were very generous. So much so that I had to leave some of it behind.Don't let the outside and the parking lot turn you away. The food is pretty good. And at a good price.

Interior of restaurant is a bit dated and tired. Waitresses were in sweatpants, which didn't look very professional.Lunch specials are a good deal, and come with soup which isn't mentioned on the menu. We usually order take out and are always pleased with the quality and portion size.

When I was growing up in Kincardine, this was THE chinese restaurant in the area. Best almond sue guy around. Since it has become under new management, I have eaten here twice. Once take out and once in house. Both times they got my order wrong, and both times the food has been mediocre at best. I would have loved to have my food corrected, but the waitress never once came to see me, and was no where to be found. Considering we were the only ones in the restaurant and the phone never rang, I'd say it was pretty unacceptable. There is also no ambience here. The fact that the restaurant is in major need of an update doesn't bother me, as long as it is clean, but it was also dead quiet. No music, no TV even. And considering it was just my daugher and I, it was dead quiet. All in all, I don't think I'll return. I will search for a new spot for sure.

We ordered takeout - dinner for 2. There was a lot of food and it was good. The spring roles were my favorite and they were probably the best I have had from a Chinese food restaurant. I would order from there again.
