There's plenty of staff and waiting time was rather short. Calamari were served with a sauce they were tasty when eating separately, however both flavours don't match together. The hotel and the surroundings are impressive. Be prepared to spot some deer.
The meal was fantastic and the service was excellent! Absolutely delightful!
Dined ala carte at the Lakeside bistro— Enjoyable outdoor dinner with an excellent view for my first night in Killarney. We had the poached pear and blue cheese salad, crab cake and smoked salmon, three cheese pizza and sea bass with couscous. Sea bass was probably the best dish but everything was more than satisfactory. Food arrived promptly and portions were pretty generous. Was difficult to get server’s attention at times but this improved through the evening and servers were very friendly. Was actually looking to get the set dinner at the Castlelough Restaurant (pictures look great) but entered the Lakeside Bistro, was too hungry to clarify, and had a great meal nonetheless!
The bistro offers good food and is great if they do not feel like a material/formal dinner in the castlelough restaurant. great view of the lake, the mccarthy more castle ... and the friendly brain!
Very bad choice of options only 2 main courses on the menu of the restaurants, of which a potato store was filled. the dessert option was vegan panacotta, which was okay. the bistro (bar) menu has only a vegan main option (one dahl) and a captivating that could be made vegan. the caps were dry, stiff and very strongly aromatized. the dahl was okay, the cauliflower could have been hotter. no start or dessert options on this menu. as for the vegan breakfast, to say it is a cooked breakfast is a sweat the portions pampered on the day. it consisted of a dry cherry pea cake with hummus, a portobello mushroom and a grilled tomato. I was not informed by the personal when it is available milk free milk or yogurt. on my last day I heard a waiter who said there was a porridge, so I asked him for some who was made with water, as the cook informed that it would have been with soy milk for a long time. porridge was beautiful. it was an extremely disappointing experience in eating and sharing the service. it looks like “Tokenism” has a vegan option on their menu, but they don’t actually care to deliver good vegan food. there are many places in the city with better menus, selection and better tasting eating. updated by previous review on 2021-09-06
