Cowboy Steak House - Kerrville

Love the great welcoming feel from the moment I stepped in. I had never seen so many hot sauces before being displayed on the wall. I had not had a steak in a while, and upon several people's recommendations, I came here. The steak was perfectly cooked,which was nice. I will definitely pass on the recommendations.

Our family had mixed reviews about the restaurant. Overall, the staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait long. My daughter enjoyed the sausage kids meal, while my son thought the rack of ribs was just okay. The appetizers, potato skins and onion rings, were a good size and very tasty. I ordered the cowgirl strip steak and my husband ordered the usual porterhouse. Both were ordered medium, but my steak was perfectly cooked while my husband's was overcooked with very little pink. The steak was also thinner than expected and lacked flavor. We ended up paying close to $200, which included two beers, a glass of wine, and the tip. For that price, we had hoped that all of us would have been satisfied with our meals.

The staff at this restaurant was amazing and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout our meal. The service was the best we have ever received. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the wine list had something to offer for everyone. For our appetizer, we enjoyed the steamed clams in a butter garlic sauce and bacon-wrapped scallops, both of which were delicious. I had the porterhouse steak, cooked perfectly, while my partner had the bison steak, which was also very tasty. Don't forget to save room for dessert, as they have a great selection. As an Iowa couple, we had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be returning next time we are in the area. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dinner out.

This steakhouse provided me with the worst dining experience I have ever had. The steak I ordered, medium well, was severely overcooked and essentially well done. When I tried to discuss this with the chef, he argued with me about what constitutes medium well. Despite my repeated attempts to explain, he refused to listen and was dismissive of my dissatisfaction. The lack of customer service and unwillingness to acknowledge my concerns left me feeling frustrated and hungry. The dry and disappointing meal ultimately led me to leave most of it uneaten. I would have been willing to pay for a properly cooked steak, but the chef's disrespectful attitude made me decide to never return to this restaurant.

Enjoyed our dinner here. Good wine list. They strive for perfection on their steaks and deliver. Enjoyed the clams in a white wine butter sauce as well. Yes, their decor is very dated, but it's cozy and I enjoyed the original artwork on display.
