--- I recently had dinner at this restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The meal cost around £50 to £60 per person, and I found the value to be excellent for the quality of food and service we received. The ambiance was inviting, making it a perfect setting for a nice evening out. This restaurant offers delightful flavors for its single vegan option at each course. The food is excellent, and I definitely plan to return. It would have been a five-star experience if there had been more than one vegan choice. Unfortunately, we both ended up ordering the same dish. This restaurant is expertly run by a skilled chef who understands the importance of quality ingredients and knows how to create complex, layered flavors. I tried the Bream, which was served with dill, carrots, and a sea vegetable. My description of the flavor doesn't do it justice; it was exceptional. The fish was cooked to perfection, with crisp edges and a tender center. My partner opted for the beef cheeks, which were incredibly tender and flavorful—exactly what you'd hope for. In my opinion, this is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Kendal.

Booked last minute for a Sunday dinner when friends visited. I phoned and spoke to Helen (manager and asked if they could accommodate for a severe nut (tree nut and peanuts allergy. Helen explained that all food is cooked fresh and they are confident with knowing what each dishes ingredients are and they will ensure clean utensils and work stations are used to prepare the allergy meal. Helen advised her husband was the chef (as it's a family business! And she would advise him of the allergy and also print a separate menu taking off the meals that contained nuts. We arrived and had a lovely little table with plenty of space for a pram (thank you! . The waiters were fantastic and very attentive to our needs. They were well aware of the allergy and made us all feel very confident in their ability to manage the allergy request. We had the roast beef dinner and the sticky toffee pudding. All I can say is, wow. It was hands down; The, Best, Sunday dinner I've ever had (sorry grandma . And the sticky toffee pudding was incredible! My wife was shocked to know she could have the pudding (as she NEVER gets to eat one! And equally loved all the food too. I think we've found out new local and can't wait to go back!
