There were plenty of restaurants to choose from at the freeway exits, but I chose to seek out a little adventure, and it was definitely worth it! Lone Fir offers fantastic food—the best BLT I've had outside of my own kitchen. The service was incredibly friendly, and the location by the creek, along with the all-wood building, adds to the charm. If you don't have kids with you, I highly recommend checking it out!
We took a detour off the highway for lunch on a Friday at noon, but unfortunately, the restaurant that appeared to be open was not. Travelers, be cautious: this unproductive detour cost us 20 minutes of our time.
When you first enter, the place has a bit of a biker bar vibe. The woman at the bar welcomed us and was very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by how much better the burgers were than I anticipated.
First time here. Wonderful adult atmosphere. Sat at the bar. Ordered. Friendly bar tender. The food is excellent. Salad was fresh. Meal in its self. Then the meal. I'll be back. Nice place.
In an era of political correctness and the death of the dive bar, this place is a blessed step back in time. The food isn't gourmet, but it's good, and the bartenders are sweethearts. The kitschy patio with its giant fire pit is frequented by traveling motorcycle clubs and locals alike. This is a great place and I hope it never goes away.
