Big Pines Lodge - Karnack

I had an excellent lunch after spending the morning on the water! The chicken fried steak was delicious, and the okra was just as good. The jalapeño hush puppy sticks were fantastic—definitely the highlight! It’s a wonderful spot, despite being located in the middle of nowhere. They also offer Wi-Fi, although it’s not very consistent!

The food was incredible, and Holly was an excellent waitress! The portions are extremely generous—definitely enough to share or take home for another meal!

The restaurant is located near the Bayou, and it's quite beautiful. We enjoyed the hush puppies, and the fried catfish was tasty and juicy. However, the shrimp was a bit dry. They initially forgot to include the entire portion of shrimp, but they promptly provided it once we brought it to their attention. I appreciated the addition of rice as a side dish, and the coleslaw was also quite good. If you're visiting Uncertain, TX, this is a great spot to eat, conveniently located near the entrance to Caddo Lake.

I recommend going on Friday before 3:00 if you don't like a lot, not Saturday afternoon like us. A little short staff, but the food was good and the view of the river is beautiful. No children's menu, but it doesn't matter if you share a meal and they give the children a few nice toy allies.

The fish, disappointed. It was slimy. The best thing were the fries pickles, green tomato relish and hushpuppies. Not worth the price or the fish. The view was nice and our server was very attentive and pleasant.
