People fight over pool chairs and reserve them as early as 6am. The pool bar with views of the lagoon and stunning sunsets closes two hours before sunset. Common courtesy seems to be lacking. Despite paying $12k to stay here, it's definitely not worth it.
I was deceived by this restaurant. I did not receive what was promised to me. We were guaranteed 2 large bedrooms, one with 2 queen beds and a sofa, and the other with a king bed. Instead, we were given two small bedrooms. I spoke to them about changing our room, but they refused. My family of 5 from California had taken an expensive trip and we were hoping for a comfortable place to relax. Unfortunately, we discovered bedbugs in our room and had to purchase medication to treat the bites. Throughout our stay, we were constantly itching and our bodies were covered in bug bites. To make matters worse, my daughter's dress was stolen within 30 minutes of setting it on a chair. There was no security or cameras outside, allowing anyone to steal freely. Upon check-in, I was told that they would assist us, but when I requested to speak to a supervisor, Randy came out and showed no sympathy. Despite showing him pictures of the bugs and bites, he did not apologize and was rude. The staff overall were extremely impolite. This experience was disappointing as I had considered purchasing a time share, but after this disastrous trip, I have decided against it. I had specifically requested 2 large bedrooms with specific bed configurations when making the reservation almost a year in advance. However, upon arrival, we were given a different type of room. This was a very expensive trip for us and they completely ruined it.
This was my first visit to this restaurant and it was excellent. It is a short drive from Honolulu airport, but far enough away to feel secluded from the bustling city. Our suite offered beautiful sunset views over one of the private lagoons towards the Pacific Ocean. The service was a bit limited due to the ongoing pandemic, but overall it was still a fantastic experience.
That was the best Vaca stay we had! and we were in some beautiful places. we were here last week. 2022. the hotel room we had was for our party of 4. king bed was comfortable and the extendable queen sofa for the children (7 10) was foam and very comfortable for them. the bathroom was a good size, it would be better with more room but the drawers helped a lot. the small refrigerator mini sink were also nice to have. we just slept in the room, because now, it is paradisiate and we spent the biggest part of the day outside enjoying the perfect weather. the activities were great! if they are an active family, they will love it here. we did many of the activities, including: family fitness, children's competitions, Hawaiian net throw, Ukele lessons, Scavenger hunting and water slide race, just to name a few. I'm sad that I don't do any of the adult stretch, yoga or boot camp like classes. but I had to get our beach cabana at 9 o'clock and that was top priority! the beach cabanas were heavenly and absolutely worth it! they are $70/day, need to reserve over text 24 hours before. we have the most days we stayed in the resort and it was worth every cent! a $20 longboards voucher was given to every cabana rental and they can order food/drinks from their cabana. the ladies worked there, worked hard, so we tapped extra well. as we were there on the day of the day, they had additional activities. the children had water balloon, hula hoop, sack race, musical hoolas, and everything was so much fun! I would highly recommend staying on a holiday and if they won, they would get a fast ice coupon and the shaved ice is delish! longboards was our way to eat. it was fast and affordable. the other sit-down restaurant also looked really good, but we were always on the run or overthrow from our day of fun. the delicate family basket and huge salad for lunch was perfect for us. the children also liked the children. the chicken catsu curry was the best dinner we had there. everything else was decent. everyone who works there was friendly and made them feel, they are really in paradise! extraordinary we met with duke (Kala’i) on the first day there at the beach hut. he is so friendly and helpful with everyone and ask! staff of the year! hands down. we will return to see him again. our children love him and missed him as soon as we left! the other exemplary employee we met was juanito. he is part of the scenic team. we waited for our journey up and we asked him where the dumpster was. we had a nice chat! it felt like he was a long, lost uncle. he gave us advice on where we go and what to do and really made us feel like a family. then he sent us to our journey with snacks! so sweet! negatiw: the bell-hop-desk front could use some improvements. our taxi has left us with all our cases. No one came to help, so I thought we had to look first. we then continued to drag all our bags (it was a lot, we were on a 3 wk vaca) past the belly table with a few boring looking people standing right now and not yet offering to help check on further inside. just to say at check-in, we should leave our bags at the belly table until our room was finished. So we got everything up the back, which was a bit of a kick from the check in the writings. the dame at the bell hop that took our dinge was either a bad day or must work on their human skills. the guy who delivered our bags to our room, and the guy who picked them up at the end of our stay was excellent! and we have therefore tipped very grateful for their service. the waitress at longboards must have our first lunch in the restaurant even a free day. not the friendly aloha who radiates from most others. but I am happy to say, except these 2 incidents, everything else was amazing! and even more perfect with the help of duke juanito! tips: they demand their cabana by text on the day before. they start at 9 o'clock, so I just wrote about this time and had no problem
We had a 2BR oceanfront penthouse room. The view was spectacular. My kids loved the pools and beach. The pools are very kid friendly. The calm bays are perfect for kids. I really enjoyed renting the cabanas on the beach to get shade. You need to reserve them the day before and get down before 9:30 to select your cabana. Past 9:30, they will give it away. A negative is people go down and put towels on the chairs by the pool. Even though they have employees monitoring it, they do not seem to properly police it. The 2BR is large and has a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The balcony is a good size. This was a lock off unit, which means there is a one bedroom side and a studio side. The studio side has its own balcony too and a kitchenette. My kids slept on that side. My older daughter slept on the king side bed and my younger daughter slept on the sofa bed. I am rating this experience as 5 circles/excellent because of the great oceanfront view and how kid friendly the resort is.
