Barnley's Guest House - Kapenguria

A friendly welcome at this home away from home set in green gardens with birdsong on awaking: we returned to enjoy the company of our hosts and relax before setting off for further exploration of Kenya.

A small piece of history. I have often visited Barnley's and enjoyed good company a comfortable bed and excellent home cooking. Lovely gardens.

This is the Real Deal. An original white Kenyan farmhouse homestay. Propreiter Richard is a slightly crusty but warm hearted septuagenarian, followed everywhere by his small flock of Jack Russel terriers. Rooms are clean but filled with generational clutter. Food is timely, tasty, and oh so traditional. The real prize here are the flower gardens surrounded by five acres of mature native forest. Visit before it vanishes forever.

A clean 1.5 hour drive from eldoret. A good getaway for those in eldoret with options of rooms and bandas with self catering service. The washrooms are clean. There is not much to do but just chill.

Nice little hideaway outside of Makutano Kapenguria. Clean, friendly and attentive staff and owners. Food is simple and delicious. Great if looking for a home-stay environment.
