Our entire party wanted fresh fish and the only fish featured was Marlin. Ugh

We dined in for the New Year Eve Special and wish we hadn't. We had a later than usual reservation at 9am. Our table was not ready. That's fine, no big deal. We knew we had a pre course meal when we made the reservation. Soup, butternut squash was good! But had pumpkin seeds as a garnish? Not sure but they were so hard they were inedible. Then we had crab cakes which neither my partner or myself were a fan of. In between the meals we had a few people check on us but we noticed they were short staffed as every time was running around trying to attend tables and all clean up the dirty ones. Meanwhile the couple next to us was sick and constantly coughing in our direction. At this point we wanted to leave but had our entree next. I ordered Prime Rib and my partner got pasta. When my prime rib arrived I was shocked. It was GREY and overcooked. My mistake for thinking it was come in at medium temp at the least. It was also cold. My partners pasta was also underwhelming and felt as if it was stilling out all day. We had a few bites and could not finish the rest. From there we had a dessert that we also weren't a fan us. Overall, it was our worst dining experience during our stay in Kauai. We were truly disappointed.

Based on the New Years fixed menu, food was average. Crab cakes were fishy and the desert was just an odd choice. Service however was good, hostess was pleasant and waitress attentitave.

Celebrated my birthday. Overall experience was good. They couldn’t accommodate a larger party of 12 for some reason so just me and my wife had a nice dinner with only one other couple in the entire restaurant. Monchong fish was Ono and service was great. It’s not cheap but seems competitive with Oasis and Hukilau which are both close by. We are locals and will likely go again.
