フィードバックを提供するI recently remembered to write this review after visiting this restaurant a while ago. I had originally wanted to try it when it was in Wailua, but unfortunately, it closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. When it reopened briefly, I was pregnant and not feeling well every day, so I missed out on trying it. However, it has now reopened in a new location in Kilauea, and my friends and I decided to give it a shot. We made reservations as I had heard it was necessary. When we arrived, it wasn't overly crowded, but there were still a good number of people. The food was excellent, albeit on the pricey side with small portions, but it was so tasty. I can't recall all the dishes we tried, but we ordered a few appetizers, a salad, and our own entrees. I also sampled a couple of cocktails, even though I'm not usually a whiskey drinker. I would consider returning to this restaurant for a special occasion, despite the high prices. My only complaint was that our appetizers arrived well before our drinks did, which would have been nice to enjoy some sips before our food came out. I wouldn't mind working here, especially to learn how to work the bar and mix drinks.
Please check for available times and make a reservation to ensure seating at this restaurant. The pub food here has a unique Hawaiian twist and their steaks and seafood specials are excellent. Don't forget to save room for their amazing desserts!
The menu is amazing, with a great selection of whiskey. The staff and owners create a welcoming and unforgettable dining experience.
The ambiance of Avalon Gastropub is very inviting. Drinks are well appointed especially the smoked vanilla old fashioned. Loved the theatrics of the smoke and flavor, very smooth. Amazing food and friendly service. I had the Asian tacos that just burst with flavor. When I returned for a second night I had the catch of the day and my brother had the duck salad and pub steak. Lots of flavor! Check it out, you will be happy you did.
We had dinner at Avalon Gastropub last night and we were extremely disappointed with the Pub Steak and slow service. We started the evening off ordering a round of cocktails and ended up waiting 20 minutes before our drinks arrived. In fact, half of our food order was served before we received our cocktails. The pub steak was $42 and it should have been called PUP Steak instead of Pub steak. The serving size was so small that we thought they made a mistake and served us an appetizer instead of an entree. The size of the steak was literally the size of a regular sized hotdog. We would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. The serving size was small for the price charged and we felt the food and drinks were overpriced.
