Bad Cat Brewery - Kansas City

Regarding bingo, it was an interesting experience. This was only my second bingo outing in Kansas City, and I liked that they use alternate win patterns (not just five in a row), which added some variety. The fast pace was enjoyable, but I often had trouble hearing the announcer. There was also an amusing situation where two players with the same board would win each prize, leading to a lot of rock-paper-scissors competitions. A shout-out to Cinder Block for hosting this event! The service was good, and the drink prices were reasonable. I also received my passport stamp, which was a nice touch. However, I felt that the sandwich wasn’t worth it. During bingo, they handed out cute HopCat stickers and coupons for free fries, which was a nice bonus! The only downside was parking; street parking in Westport is never easy.

Looking for a fun quirky spot that's good for happy hour, brunch, dinner late night drinks?? Well look no further folks. HopCat is a great blend of quality food drink AND it's located in Westport which is a bonus if you are trying to bar hop in the area for a night out. I got the stuffed cowboy burger which has melted cheese in the CENTER of the patty...omg). I got a side of the cosmik fries yum yum) and a blood orange cider to wash it all down. I went during happy hour, and the burgers were $5 off and drinks were discounted as well. They also have a speak easy TikiCat) which I have yet to go to, but I am very excited to experience it sometime soon. Parking is a little tricky since it's in Westport, but trust me it's worth the effort to come here.

If you don't do anything else when you're here make sure you get the OG Cosmik fries. They are so tasty and they come with a cheese sauce that compliments them well (they're so good that you don't actually need it). There is an EXTENSIVE beer list. I'm not a beer drinker so I don't have much to say other than that. But for those of you that are, there is something there for you. Also, if the weather is good, head upstairs to the rooftop!!

We were the first customers on a Sunday morning, and a few more parties arrived while we waited for our food. I was surprised that it took about 30-40 minutes for our meals to arrive, especially since the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. The Dude's Waffle was quite small, so I’d recommend pairing it with something else and sharing it with others. The toast sticks were exceptionally savory and sweet, but I’d suggest sharing those too, as they might be overly sweet if consumed as a main dish. I appreciated being able to substitute bacon for chorizo in my entree. Additionally, I enjoyed that my dish came with crack fries. Overall, however, I found my meal to be just okay. It was somewhat cold and lacked flavor. I'm not sure I'll be coming back for brunch in the future.

One of my favorite places in Westport is HopCat. There's something for everyone here. If you're in the mood for some outdoor seating, I recommend heading upstairs to their rooftop bar for some fantastic views. Don't forget to check out their Tiki Cat room downstairs for a speakeasy vibe. For brunch enthusiasts, they offer an excellent menu and great mimosa deals every weekend. While fries are always a solid option, I decided to try something different this time and ordered the nachos. They were quite good, but I wished they had fresh jalapeños. I also really enjoyed my Jameson Mule—it was absolutely delicious.
