Amazing food, amazing service, great portions. I love love love this place. I've tried many things on the menu and it is all amazing. The yogurt sauce is delicious!

This ME girl just loves this place!!!! After going here for a yelp event, I am hooked. The food is so fresh and delicious. We like to order the saffron lemon chicken and the kubideh (ground sirloin beef kabob to share. Always tastes amazing! Ordered online and it was ready in 20 minutes. The place was filled with families eating in and a few picking up their orders. I was so happy to see it busy. Misa, one of the owners remembered me from the event. Very cool. They make their own pita bread here and you can actually watch them do it behind the counter: *Check-in on yelp for a free soda/water. *They cater events/parties *Close at 5pm on Saturdays *Closed on Sundays*Street meter parking only

This is real, true Persian food, not your hybrid So Cal kabob fare. The lemon chicken has the most beautiful floral saffron aroma with slight char on the chicken breast and the basmati is perfectly cooked. It came with delicious lentil soup and hummus along with Greek salad over mixed greens. $14.99 not including tax and enough to feed two people which is a good deal these days.All the sides were perfect and tasty which is different from many kabob shops who skimp on the sides.Staff was friendly and the restaurant is nice. Nice touch...I was offered hot tea while I waited for my to go order...lovely example of Persian hospitality.

Awesome experience at Chelo Taste of Persia!Parking: There is metered parking on Van Nuys but I prefer to park on the street called Friar which is still metered but less heavy with traffic.The storefront is between the People's Bail Bonds and FCS Insurance Services with Van Nuys Barber right at the corner. They have daily specials and catering available too!The saffron lemon chicken kabob was tasty and soft, not dry like other places. I actually like how it's made to order and not sitting in a warmer some where. I got full rice but should have gotten half rice and half salad because from other pictures the salad looks really good!Hummus plate was okay.Overall, clean ambience and friendly service. Great experience and no negatives.Parking: Parking on Friar street which isn’t so busy but it’s metered also.

Chelo Taste of Persia is a Father and Son family-owned business. I was greeted with a big Hello when I walked in. Right away -I knew it was going to be a hit. Yep, it was.The Saffron Lemon chicken was juicy and delicious. The rice was fluffy and the salad complimented the Chicken.It came with soft and tasty pita bread with a spread of Humus, salad dressing and Lentil soap. The quantities are generous and the plate is full.I had a delicious meal at Chelo Taste of Persia. Go for the chicken. I guarantee that you will love it.
