Twenty - One - Kaiserslautern

This is a fabulous location with a beautiful view of Kaiserslautern! We decided to have a farewell dinner here and we coordinated everything ahead of time for our party of 22. We started with drinks on the fantastic outdoor bar patio at 6:30. Then we...sat down for dinner about 30 minutes later. It took nearly 40 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. We were parched and desperate to order bottles of water and beverages. It then took forever for our waitress to take our order, bring our salads, and entrees. Dishes would come out one at a time. Someone would finish their dinner, then someone else's dinner would be delivered to the table. than 5 hours later, those of us who chose the preset menu still had not gotten our dessert. We finally took it to go at nearly midnight. The owner refused to take any credit cards even though he has a credit card machine. He did not take a vat form for our party of 21. He was very rude and abrasive. He announced that he didn't need our business, and that his restaurant is always full. He did ask if he could give us coffee or a bottle of wine. However, now that we had been there 6 hours, we were ready to depart. This is a travesty! The location is great! Food delicious! Ambiance lovely! But, the service is horrendous and the owner was very unprofessional.

On the 21st floor of the city hall, you 'll find the restaurant 21. As others have mentioned this is one of the few more upscale restaurants available and you can go in dressed nicely or casual. The fare is tasty and well made. The view...is also beautiful. If you don 't opt for a meal or just drinks, you can go up and see the Kaiserslautern skyline and take photos. It 's worth the visit.

The 21 is, like the name indicates, on the 21 floor of the 'Rathaus ' which with his central location provides quit a good overview about the surroundings. At this time the Terrace wasn 't open so it would be a try to come again in a...hotter season and enjoy the view by daylight. The food during this visit was the 'Rinderconsommé ' followed by the the 'Putenschnitzel '. Nothing very special as dish but fortunate good, the pommes weren 't too soft, the Putenschnizel not too dry. Size was fair considering the price. To mention that the 21 isn 't just purely a Restaurant, you may just jump in and enjoy fingerfood with a drink in the smaller part used as lounge. The lounge isn 't realy separated or isolated from the main part, so noise of the Restaurant will be heard. The waiter and waitresses were friendly and of good mood. If you enter the 21 you should wait at the entry door, they will as fast as possible coming to you. After asking where i could have my dish with a good view, the waitress guided me to the lounge. That the table was deeper as a normal table was no surprise and didn 't bothered me, since i wanted to be relax with view. In more or less regular intervalls one waitress came to check at the guests if everything was fine or if someone wanted to order something. For ordering, just make sign if one of the waiter/resses comes by. The pictures of other reviews are quit accurate. It would be keep in mind that you need to pay in cash. Maybe it would be an improvment to introduce cardreaders and yet it doesn 't really bothers if you are aware of it. The 21 is worht a visit and can be recommanded. Left to see if they keep the same quality up for the futur.

Not going to lie I was pretty hesitant on trying this restaurant after reading a few reviews. Happy to say we decided to give it a shot. We ordered appetizers, main course and cocktails. Everyone enjoyed their meals! We all agreed that we will revisit...during the long summer days to enjoy a cocktail and meal on the patio. Definitely make reservations, bring cash as they do not take cards. I thought everything was priced fine throughout the menu. Happy eating with a great city view

I love 21.... definitely my top choice for special occasions! You’re on the 21st floor (top floor) of the City Hall with a spectacular view of all of Kaiserslautern! Sunsets are especially beautiful-even if you only go for a glass of wine to watch the...sunset.... staff is very friendly aim to please every time! They change the menu depending on what’s fresh in season! Reservations are encouraged-they take cash only!
