Wabisabi Teppan Steak House Sushi

Today is my wife's Birthday and our family of 5 decided to go here at Wabi Sabi for dinner! We were in the front of the line waiting for them to open at 5 pm. We entered and was seated at a grill and waited for the chef to come with his cart and put on a cooking show which was pretty good! The food was placed on our plates and we ate until we were stuffed! We also ordered 3 different sushi rolls and my wife wanted a soft shell crab for an appetizer! The place looked clean and a lot of bamboo looking walls! Plenty of people working keeping everyone happy!

So been going here for a long time pretty regularly and we enjoy the food, although some chefs are better than others. But this review isn't about the food. Just a warning to anyone bringing a few folks here for a birthday or larger event like we did. So, first off... This is on me too, Wabi Sabi gave me the itemized receipt and the card merchant receipt for the bill, and honestly I just scanned the itemized and looked at the merchant bill to wrap out the check. So the tab was like $825 I paid a 20% tip and signed off at just shy of a grand. Well I found the old receipt, and come to find out they included about $120 in tips in the $825... Now I know it's common for restaurants to do this w/larger parties and I should have done my due diligence, but bc we go here pretty often I just did the usual. But kinda shiesty that they didn't tell me the included the tips and the merchant receipt still has the tip boxes on it even after including the tips. So anyway, hey guess the service staff got blessed that night. But heads up y'all and buyer beware!!! They aren't going to tell you tips are included in the bill, and don't be like me and double tip.

The service was good. The lighting and ambient is relaxed family friendly. The problem was the food. It was just not good very bland, not much flavor. We came for the sushi, the Las Vegas roll and the baked salmon and it just wasn't that good. Was super disappointed in it all. I would not recommend those 2 rolls. Im Even scared to taste the others. But see for yourself you might like it?

My Husband I stopped by this location and was waiting to sit but as we sat down in the waiting area we viewed how dirty the waiting area was. We decided to leave but not before taking a few pictures. If the waiting area is this way I can only imagine how the kitchen and dining area may be. I hope they will correct this as there have to be more customers that walked out because of the plants in the waiting area that is full of dust hair!! and the floor and chairs were dirty as well. This has been a favorite go to restaurant for my family for over 10 years. The food is always delicious! The staff are very friendly. However I recently noticed somethings that should be taken care of and I may be over doing this; but the decorations were very dusty and needed cleaning, the lighting would disguise this. And the water tasted awful! Had to have been tap. When asked if they had bottled water I was told no??? But you have a full bar! Those 2 things I would address if I were manager,
