One of the best hidden treasures i n Johnstown for a home cooked hot fresh meal which happens to lie within the walls of my place of employment. Its the Crossroads Cafe and it goes above and beyond your average hospital cafeteria One of the most unique things about this cafe is their eagerness to please with such diverse options of cuisine They always have a hot line of food which is something you would expect of any cafeteria but always offer healthy choices within the buffet. Food here is always homemade hot and fresh. The innovations offers a special entree of the day which is made to order by you with your own toppings. Such as baked potato bar. Buffalo chicken salad bar or pittsburgh sandwich bar which is my favorite and mimics the works of Primanti brothers sandwiches Nothing catches your eye yet? Well lets move on to the grill to order section. Here you can order burgers, grilled or fried chicken, sandwiches, hot dogs, side ordered appetizers such as fries cheese sticks, or jalapeño poppers. Hmmmmm. Still not in the mood? Check out the Italian section which offers a variety of pizzas, pasta, calzones, or strombolis. The deli section is my go to which offers a fresh variety of meats and cheeses on your style of bread, hoagie, or wrap. Served hot or cold with your fresh choice of toppings. If you make it here. Ask for Stacey. Shes never stingy on the meat and always service with a smile Last but not least is the fresh salad bar and choice of homemade soups. The best soups i have ever eaten. A favorite of mine is the cheeseburger chowder. Not healthy... But drastic days call for drastic measures Top it off with a huge variety of homemade cakes, pies , and desserts and your bad day will be forgotten. If only till the last bite is ingested All food is prepared quickly and well at a fair price People come from the city just to eat here as well as employees and hospital visitors. Convenience quickness and deliciousness best describes my most frequented dome of eats. Enjoy if ya get the chance!!!!!
