Ocean Basket Rosebank - Johannesburg

I had prawns for the first time, and the Platter for One was a delicious assortment of everything. I have a question, though: I lost my bank card and only had enough cash to cover the meal, but I felt pressured to pay a 10% tip. Is this mandatory or optional?

The seafood was quite unappetizing; it had a burnt taste that was really disappointing, especially with the seafood platter. The sushi was decent and somewhat enjoyable, but I've definitely had better. I wouldn't order a seafood platter from this location again. On a positive note, the service we received was absolutely outstanding.

Overall, OB Dining usually delivers a great experience. However, today wasn't their best day. After locating Alice, I ordered some fish and calamari. The batter was decent, but the fish was overcooked, which made it dry. My wife's kingklip was also cooked longer than it should have been. The waitress was good, and the calamari was okay. When the starter bread is the highlight of the meal, you know something is off with the establishment. Come on, OB Rosebank, I know you can do better!

I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the platter was prepared. It also tasted fantastic. Their Mojito is absolutely delightful as well. I highly recommend this place if you're a seafood lover!

The food was delicious! To be honest, I'm not a big fan of seafood, but I really enjoyed the Fried Calamari and the Famous Fish and Chips. The service was outstanding! The waitress was extremely accommodating, not just to me, but to her other customers as well, which I noticed. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
