I've stayed away from this place for a long time because previous visits were not so satisfying. However, a few weeks ago, upon the insistence of my husband, we came in for lunch, and we learned that it's already under new management and the food were all wonderful. We ordered crispy beef, scallops with veggies, bean curd and chicken and corn soup. We all loved it so much, everything seems fresh and very tasty. I came back again tonight just with son and had whitebaits and the soup that my son seem to love a lot. We live really close, so we will be dropping by anytime soon.
After hearing about the new owners and chef, we had a mother's day dinner and chose to have the banquet. This is one of the best value chinese banquets in Darwin. The serving sizes were generous and the food was top notch. Our favourites were the mains - mainly the Crispy Beef, Honey Chicken (best Honey Chicken or Lemon Chicken I've tasted) and Mongolian Lamb. However, there are some areas that can be improved. Firstly, try and keep your stock levels up. There were 5 of us and only 4 Ginger Beers were available and only 2 straws. The other issue I had was with the entrees, where we had to share 3 large spring rolls and 2 large dim sims. I would prefer that we all had a smaller spring roll and dim sim each.We would definitely go back.
Had prawn toast, sweet and sour pork and special fried rice. 6pm on a stormy friday night and they were flat out! Phone ringing, take aways and deliveries! The extremely friendly greeting l received was a refreshing change to most establishments these days. My food came out quickly considering they were so busy. Lovely and hot and containers were bursting full! It was enough to feed 4 ! Quality was fantastic too. Best Chinese food lve had in my 7 years in Darwin. Well done!
Had a group of 13. Food was good and plentiful. Staff were wonderful especially as it was only their second night of operation. Would definitely recommend and intend to have more gatherings there as it was very economical. BYO meant that it cost us less than $20 a head.
