Lovely location, friendly staff, reasonable range of food available.
A little gem in a beautiful spot of the island. In the day it has a more traditional English beach cafe menu and vibe. In the evenings they serve authentic Thai food which is absolutely delicious, light and fresh. You can treat yourself without the guilt you sometimes come away with after a stodgy greasy takeaway. As they don't have a license to serve alcohol on the premises it is BYOB and the staff are happy to provide you with glasses and bottle openers etc. The food is very reasonably priced and the portions are good. Given the view and the seculded spot, it could be seen to be a romantic place on a quieter night with a nice sunset but be aware that it is a beach cafe at the end of the day so it is mostly plastic patio seating and they have no W/C on site, so depend on the public toilets on the slipway. Not exactly the lap of luxury in that respect but the place is a great experience none the less.
Salbe Beerei is located right by Bon Nuit Beach, offering fantastic views of the bay and the sea. The atmosphere is functional yet inviting. During the day, it's a family-run café, but at night it transforms into a Thai restaurant serving exquisitely prepared Thai dishes with generous portions. We enjoyed the Pad Thai, Penang curry, and a selection of spring rolls, which all came with aromatic jasmine rice. The service was both efficient and friendly. The restaurant closes at 9 PM, and there’s parking available next door. Dining here is a unique experience, complemented by stunning views. This is definitely the place to go, and I will be returning!
This place is hard to categorize, straddling the line between a café and a restaurant. The service is quick, friendly, and attentive. The food is authentically Thai, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Its location and ambiance are nearly unmatched. It’s truly a hidden gem.
