Canary - Jennings Lodge

Came from out of town for a birthday party. The crowd was diverse and friendly. Service was fast and friendly. Food was freaking amazing! Chicken and Waffles on point! And the house made ranch dressing was super dilly and drinkable! Tried to buy some for the road but was denied. Will definitely visit again my next time thru town.

Service was prompt, food was absolutely delicious! Not a sit-down restaurant feel, though, more like an upscale bar, but nice!

Oh my good golly, the food is so good! Brian is a master chef. Best ribs and meat in Portland. Also the bartender, Ryan is so accommodating and kind, it’s like we’ve been friends forever. I love The Canary!!!

Unrealized potential. Got rid of the terrible bluish tinted lighting that caused headaches. Great. But then the food quality dropped hard and the ‘grumpy’ bartender that another reviewer mentioned makes it just not worth going there. Eye rolls, loud sighs, dropping food silverware. This after flicking the menu at me. No, I was not ordering food at closing. Yes he had a cook (that was just sitting down and playing on his phone). Just go across the street to Mock Crest Tavern. Friendly welcoming staff with better food.
