This restaurant is in the Fairmont Jasper. The restaurant itself is dark, but spacious -- no sitting on top of other diners. Food is western game focused -- bison , elk, etc., but also with fish, lamb and standard steak house fare. Wine list is extensive, but also expensive. While we enjoyed our dinner here, the value wasn't good and I'd recommend Syrahs in Jasper over this. Or else try some of the other Fairmont restaurants that might offer a nicer view or outdoor seating.
My party visited Jasper Park Lodge on Aug 4/2017 and let me tell you about my experience. First, we dined at the Moose's Nook Restaurant where we were met a friendly Hostess, a smiling Maitre'D and were shown to our table. Our server that evening was a young woman named Carly, who hands down, gave us the best service and experience my family and friend have enjoyed in a long while. The recommended Double Smoked Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin was simply incredible. As was the Roasted Veal Chop & Braised Cheek and Tenderloin. From the appetizers to dinner entree's to dessert was incredible. Carly took the time to pair wines with our food to enhance the flavours and of course our love of wine. My wife and I are locals (Calgary) and our guest from Ontario was simply blown away by the great service and food. Thanks to Carly and the Chef for making our dining experience one we look forward to enjoying again on our next visit. After dinner, we were shown around the Lodge by another young woman named Krista, who was kind enough to take some photos of us as the sun was setting behind the mountains by the water piers. (Did I mention the complimentary Hot Chocolate and cookies along the water) She showed us some amenities that we will definitely be taking advantage of and enjoying when we return. Thanks KristaLastly, we ended the evening off with a night cap in the Emerald Lounge in the main foyer of the Lodge. We had the pleasure of being served by Skylar. A pleasant young man that was very attentive to making sure our glasses were full and giving us such attentive service. It was a great way to end the evening.Overall, the staff at Jasper Park Lodge have an over whelming passion for their jobs and that evening it showed. The Friday of a long weekend we were a little hesitant to go out, but from the moment we walked in the front doors until we walked out, we were treated to such a level of service that was went beyond our expectations. Thanks to Carly, Krista, Skylar and everyone else at Jasper Park Lodge that made our stay a very memorable experience.Scott M.Calgary, Alberta
This restaurant in Jasper Park Lodge is similar to many other gourmet dining restaurants in the Rockies, however is one of the best. The service was attentive and the manager came over twice to make sure everything was fine. The seafood broth I had tasted very good. The amuse bouche was a nice touch. I only give this four stars because I feel it was very expensive and at this price because it is situated in a luxury hotel. If you are staying in the hotel or are visiting it, I would still recommend a meal here.
The food was amazing! The only thing better than the food was the service. Carly our server went above and beyond. She was knowledgeable about the food and and the wine and helped us with some pairings. One of the best meals we have had in a long time and Carly made it even more enjoyable!
