フィードバックを提供するWe arrived unannounced with 20 people. Within 10 minutes we all had our drinks, and within 20 minutes most of us had our cakes & freshly cooked snacks. The girls serving were young but very efficient and polite (or maybe they just look young because I'm old!). No one could complain about the short wait, & with views of the dam, Blue Wrens & Twenty Eight parrots, I would have been happy to wait longer. The food was cooked as we ordered, not made in the morning & kept hot in a Bain Marie like so many places do these days. It was well cooked and delicious.
Accessed via Kingsbury Drive via the township of Jarrahdale, this cafe is located in the main car parking area at the eastern end of Serpentine Dam. After having a wander around the dam, we climbed the stairs to the cafe and saw that it had decent alfresco and indoor seating areas, ideal for small or large groups. We aimed to have the vegetarian burger but they had run out of patties so we went for the vegetarian breakfast instead. Reasonable fare once it arrived, the wait time wasn't as long as people have been saying and considering they're the only cafe at this attraction it was fine. They have a small merchandise area with artwork, accessories and stationery which was a nice addition. A great retreat after a hike exploring the dam.
My husband and I live in the area and went for a Sunday Coffee and Cake the service was so so (not very friendly, but efficient) the wait was a bit long when the items we had should of been fairly quick and easy to prepare. The view over Serpentine Dam is a very nice but I think that is the main reason you would come here. We did not have a proper meal but the meals we did see looked very large. They also have a small gift shop area.
My wife and were passing through after a lunch at Millbrook Winery. We stopped in for coffee and cake. The place was empty however the cake was unbelievable and the coffee definitely up there with some of the better ones I've had. It was quite nice just to walk in, look out over the dam and watch the birds feeding on the verandah.
Very slow and poor service, overpriced and just average quality. The view over the dam is nothing special and can only be appreciated from a few tables. The seating became uncomfortable during our one hour plus wait for the food to be served. When finally the meals arrived, there were 2 omissions and the bacon was cold. By the time we had finished eating, we were glad to leave.
