Gators Bbq - Jacksonville

We visited this restaurant for the first time after hearing so many positive reviews, and it certainly lived up to the hype! I had the pork chop for lunch, which was tender and incredibly flavorful. The fried green tomatoes were a standout as well—crispy and thinly fried to perfection. The sweet tea was just right, which is essential in my book. My husband particularly enjoyed the collard greens, claiming they were the best he’s had in a while. We’re definitely looking forward to returning to try more dishes!

We had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while but were unsure what to expect given the abundance of glowing reviews. Having been let down in the past, we approached it with caution. However, I'm happy to say that we were not disappointed at all! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I opted for the two-meat combo with ribs and brisket, and both were fantastic. Even the sides exceeded our expectations. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, and they were truly delightful as well. We will definitely be returning!

The loaded meat potatoes had a unique presentation, resembling a reassembled potato skin. The serving size of pulled pork was small to medium, accompanied by a packet of sour cream. Although I didn't opt for nacho cheese, the shredded cheese was nearly all melted onto the paper boat. The two-meat platter featuring sausage and brisket, along with two sides, was enjoyable. There were several sauces available to choose from, but I found the selection lacking a spicy or paprika option, as most of the sauces were on the sweeter side, which wasn’t to our taste. Outside, there were two umbrellas over the seating area, and dogs are welcome in that section.

From this world! I ordered the sweet pig and drizzled the sweet bbq sauce up. The baked beans were unique with a hint of onion. They even shared their banana pudding with us. Very friendly staff, each one!

My new favorite BBQ restaurant!! That 's saying something bc I 'm very picky about my BBQ. Fast and friendly service. Generous portions! Most importantly .perfectly smoked fat and juicy full sized make you dance in your seat ribs!!??? We got the rib dinner with 2 sides, slaw and fries. It came with 5 huge ribs, seasoned fries, and sweet cole slaw. I say we bc Hubby and I shared it and it was more than enough food. So dang delicious!! Our son got the NC Pork sandwich came with fries and drink. The sandwich was so packed high with juicy pork that he could barely get his mouth around it. ? Big Man Stamp of Approval! I want to add, as a woman 's POV, the restaurant was clean and decor was cute. To my surprise even the restroom was very clean, decorated and smelled good. That says a lot to me. ? You 've got to check 'em out if you love BBQ. A friend texted me and said they also have delicious fried fish. Now I gotta go back!
