フィードバックを提供するI used to live in the area but now visit a fortnight per year. This is simply THE best cafe in the area (even more now that Arthur 's has gone). Huge portions of great grub. Probably 50p-£1 dearer than others in the area per main plate, but well worth it. The 'N1 ' breakfast is a personal favourite.
I love this place, a family favourite. Really great quality food, well cooked and such lovely staff.
In a rapidly gentrifying pocket of Islington the Spring Rose remains a reliable good quality greasy spoon. Been the same for the last 8 years, does exactly what you want it to with a smile and with ease. Recommend the freshly squashed orange juice with your fry-up as well. Great place.
Enjoyed a well cooked bacon, eggs and tomato really nicely cooked and not greasy at all, and a cup of proper tea and round of buttered toast for not much over £4. Can't say fairer than that. Only thing that let them down was the coffee not a great flavour, I'd stick to the tea. And the cigarette butts all round the table outside). But don't let that put you off. If you want a good English breakfast with change from a fiver then head here.
This café has an upmarket neighbour right next door that looks after your typical Islington types on the weekends, however the Spring Rose is your archetypical British café serving good wholesome breakfasts to the hard working lads and lasses. Clearing out my late brothers flat in Southgate Road I needed a bite to eat before 08:30 on a weekday when the parking restrictions came into force, having travelled from the Cotswold's at 04:30 I was starving at 08:00 when I went looking for a place to eat. A huge crusty bread bacon sandwich and coffee within 10 minutes and I was on my way. The upmarket neighbour next door we have used on prior visits is excellent but probably twice to price. You get what you pay for.
