Atlantic's Edge - ISLAMORADA

So we came to dinner on the beach and don't expect much more than that. We were certainly satisfied with what we found. The terrain is special, the view of the sea is stunning and the food was much better than we expected. Overall, a dinner has to do place in the upper keys.

The food was mostly hit and a little miss. The crab cake appetizer was AMAZING. Like probably the best cran cake I 've ever had. My husband got the seared shrimp and scallops and they were also good. I had the snapper, which was just ok. It was just a little bland for me. It wasn 't bad, per se, but it wasn 't good either. My only real complaint was the service. I know and understand Island time but this was well beyond having a laid back attitude. Our waiter would just disappear for long stretches. It became ridiculous at some points. I would 've gotten dessert but it took him SO LONG to come back to our table after the entrée that I just wanted the check so we could .

Breakfast and lunch here were great! Has an amazing view too!

We had a perfect dinner. We had the Broiled Octopus and the crispy Brussels sprouts for starters and they were amazing! Service was also top notch.

The Cheeseburger was cold and overcooked with a thin patty. Wendy's beats it! The lobster grilled cheese was sent back because the meats was dry, rubbery, tough and the lobster flavor was suffocated by other ingredients such as spices and cheese. One bite sent it back. The salad ingredients were poor. The stale croutons should not have been plated. The lettuce was old and cucumber flaccid. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the water but that doesn't make up for the poor food. With Cheeca Lodge being such an exclusive 4 plus star resort, we expected much better.
