Drinks are yummy and ~150 pesos (not bad), cool statues outside (museum wasn't open I don't think) and comfortable ample seating on and off the beach. The water is full of grass after a few feet in, all the way to the end of the long dock. The only place to snorkel is under the dock. Good snorkeling with a variety of fish, including a sting ray and a couple barracudas. There are ladders to get in and out if you don't want to jump. Water depth varies highly. The worst part about this place, and the reason I won't go back is there are white hollow flexible tubular sea creatures in the water leading all the way to the grass so you don't feel like you can put your foot down safely. I have no idea what they were. I don't think they were jelly fish, but I could be wrong. They didn't float around, just sat at the bottom of the water. They weirded me out for sure. Staff was friendly, but you waited a long time for food and drink. So besides the water, with the exception of snorkeling (which still sucks you are under the dock), then this place is great to spend the day.
We loved this beach club. The only downside is the water is full of sea grass and not as conducive to swimming. You can walk down the pier and go into the water. The views are beautiful. We loved the pool and spent all day at the swim Up bar. This was definitely a fun place to go!!
We spent a month on Isla and explored from one end to the other and Capitan Dulche was our favorite place of all. We loved the laid back vibe of the place; it is calm and peaceful compared to the more high energy Kin Ha. We had the most excellent service on the island here; they were attentive when you need them but there was no hassle factor at all. Good food, good drinks, good prices and no cover or minimum purchase. Highly recommend the nachos with steak and the vegie enchiladas. Nice sandy beach with really good chairs, lounges, beds, and palapas as well as a nice pool and an entire ship in the bar area. There is also a little museum and very cool artwork on the grounds. We are big snorkeling fans and Capitan was the best the island has to offer. It's mostly sea grass, sand, and dock fish but still plenty to see (including Sea Hares and Octupuses!!! and you can snorkel your way down south past Maria's and to the Kin Ha dock and back. They also had live music one day around the bar. Come spend the day.
