Po Melvin's - Irving

Had the catfish Po Boy and the fish was cooked perfect with not too much batter. Very tasty. Service was great. My wife tried the chicken and dumplings but didn't care for it. The waitress saw that she didn't eat much of it and had it taken off the bill only charging for the veggies. That's good service. Would recommend. Fries are hand cut and are good.

We met up with family to treat mom for Mother's Day. Mom had the Chicken Fried Steak, unfortunately it was a tough cut of meat. It was not good at all. I had the stuffed peppers. That was edible, but it was one pepper butterflied with the filling sitting on top of the pepper. So it wasn't actually a stuffed pepper. The sides weren't good to me either. I also noticed an odd smell as I sat there. It could have been from cleaning products, not pleasant at all when dining. Other than that, we were with family, that was nice. Unfortunately, it's a no for me. I will not be returning to this restaurant again. ??

Probably among the best Southern/Soul Food I've eaten. The black eyes peas are INCREDIBLE Reasonably priced, fresh, pretty much ALL home made. Every choice is a good choice.

I’ve tried their grilled porkchop plate before they had great flavor so we decided to try again!!!! I’m from the boot I must say fries are bland no seasoning shrimp had no flavor! I sent my husband today on his lunch break, fries were not hot neither before you say because it was takeout we live right across the street. Ordered at 1pm text said it was ready at 1:13 I gave 2 stars because it was ready fast. $32 we could have kept. Not worth it…..

Ain't o way this place black owned. I've never had food this terrible before. The greens fry n taste like nothing, carrots taste like nothing, rice isn't even fully cooked it's so hard n taste like nothing. I gave it to my dog bc I know there weren't any seasoning on anything
