Get Fresh Cafe - Iowa City

We were cutting through town on our way home to the QC when the desire for a great smoothie hit my hubby. I googled and we made our way to Get Fresh Cafe. The owner, Wendy, came out from the back to answer my hubby's questions and even checked in to seehow we liked what we ordered. Hubby thought his could use more honey and Wendy had the staff add more to it. She and her staffwere super friendly. Cute place with lots of great looking pressed juices, sandwiches and wraps. I stopped in for a coffee, the customer service was very nice, the whole place was very neat and the restroom was clean as a whistle. Will stop here again and try some food.

Wraps, bowls and juices are staples here. After ordering at the counter, you can eat inside or outside. They had a nice selection of food items and juices although I felt the sandwich I had was an average sandwich.

The staff appeared quite confused about the order of food, and the service was quite slow. It was unclear whether they were understaffed or simply overwhelmed by the volume of orders, as it was a busy time. The food was delicious, but the pace left something to be desired.

The smoothie had the perfect consistency: thick enough to feel substantial, yet smooth enough to sip easily. I could taste every single fruit, and the yogurt—oh, the yogurt! It was heavenly! This café also supports local businesses, which is a wonderful plus, and they offer a menu beyond just smoothies. Still, every day, I find myself craving one of their smoothies. It’s become an obsession. My friends have scratches and bite marks from trying to stop me from getting my fix, and my boyfriend almost lost a leg in the process. My mom even called me in tears today, pleading with me to cut back, claiming I’m draining our family savings and causing strife. But nothing—absolutely nothing—can come between me and Get Fresh Café. So, you must go and experience it for yourself!
