Stazione Da Agnese & Adriana - Intragna

First the positive. The food was very good and ample. Although the prices are really high. Now the negative. We were 11 older women in the Centovalli for hiking etc. I guess our clothes and shoes didn 't approve the high standards of the owner. We were treated like second class clients. We ordered for approx. CHF 900.00! but never got a smile or a friendly word, either from her, her son or the waitress. In fact, they removed empty plates while others were still eating. I have never experienced a more degrading lunch.

We came upon this restaurant by chance after a trip on the wonderful Centovalli railway. From the outside it looks very unassuming. However we were enticed by the owner, Sra Agnese, to go into the dining room. What a surprise a relatively upmarket restaurant with a spectacular view of the valley below. We felt a ittle incongruous in there as we had just tumbled off the train on a sizzling hot day so were not looking exactly presentable. This didn 't appear to bother Madame who bamboozled us into taking the 3 course menu. I have to say the food was excellent: a gazpacho with small burrata, bresaola with raspberries, excellent home made ravioli with fresh mushrooms, and a lovely selection of desserts including delicious local bilberries. An unexpected, but ultimately very pleasant, experience. We were seriously worrried before the bill arrived , but it wasn 't so bad in the end, about 70/80 CHF per person w/out wine. Hats off to Sra. Agnese!

The food and presentation are excellent with great flavours. The restaurant is off the beaten track but worth the visit for the food and the view. The service is not up to the level of the food and the prices. Signora Agnese means well but can come across as overpowering maybe she gets a little tired after all this many years at the helm with great success. Nevertheless good food and wine in a nice ambiance and with an incredible view.

The gastronomic Eldorado in the Centovalli! I was allowed to spend two nights including culinary excellence in the Hotel Ristaurante Stazione with the hosts Eloa and Yanick. I have decided against photos because my illustrations and descriptions do not do justice to reality. I was greeted with one of the warmest greetings in Eloa. After a small hotel tour, I caught my breath when entering my room for the first time. Being first on the Titanic's railing is nothing compared to the prospect! And the best thing is, you lie in bed, have the balcony and this view in front of you! But I was looking forward to the evening. I opted (twice) for the 4 course carte blanche one of the best decisions of my life. On the first evening I was able to enjoy everything vegetarian (on request). The individual courses were so balanced, each component simply sat next to the high quality basic products, in the production and presentation! Ditto for the second night I opted for more meat. Yanick has fully exploited the culinary top level with regional products! In addition to the unbelievable food, there is of course also the service to be honored here. Not once did I have to ask for anything. Eloa fulfilled my every wish before I could express it. She passes on her knowledge with great passion and raises the gastronomic experience to a unique top level. When Eloa takes care of the other guests with great enthusiasm, Fabio is immediately there with his cheerful and courteous nature. In addition to the evening experiences, the morning should also be mentioned here. I was greeted by Fata with probably the warmest and most loving smile and shown to my breakfast table. The perfectly put together first meal of the day left nothing to be desired. Rounded off with the warm service, there's no better way to start the day! Basically, it can be said that the living room atmosphere with the high performance of the kitchen, service and housekeeping is unparalleled.
