Ms Ruby's Bakery - Inglewood

Finally tried this place! I live just down the street and have always wanted to check it out but it's so under the radar I've forgotten. Walking in it's super packed with tables and chairs and it feels like a true home atmosphere. Proportions are huge and the price is about right for what you pay for. Be sure to get beer to complete your meal. Definitely comfort food for a chill date night

One of my go-to spots in Hayes valley; their brunch on the weekend is especially delicious! Communal table seating, it can be a bit noisy, but overall cool atmosphere.

I purchased a Red Velvet Cake to enter into a friendly competition with friends about which bakery has the best cake in Los Angeles. Well, I withdrew my cake from the competition because it was not the Ms. Ruby's Red Velvet Cake I fell in love with years ago. I used to LOVE it... it was magical!!! But this cake missed the mark. I'm hoping that is was just an off day. The red velvet cake was just ok, not what it should have been.

Wasn't a fan at all. Cake had a raw batter aftertaste and considering the texture probably wasn't cooked as long as it should have been
