They're only open from Wednesday to Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. But you know what? You can only get away with such limited hours if your food is outstanding, and Chef Oya's dishes truly are fantastic! Everything is fresh and bursting with flavor. The buttery, garlicky seafood is generously topped with parmesan, and the combination of potatoes, broccoli, and corn creates a delightful blend of tastes and textures. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The only downside, apart from the limited hours, is that you'll either need to take your food to go or eat it in your car, as there isn't much seating available.
You approach a window to place your order, and there's a small plastic partition that makes it really hard to hear the staff, who aren't particularly friendly. The speaker has some audio issues, cutting in and out. After you place your order, they quickly turn around, and you receive your food in about three minutes. However, everything seems to be pre-made; my broccoli was cold. Despite that, if you know what to expect, it's a fantastic value. I ordered the island curry loaded shrimp for $15, and the shrimp was tender and essentially perfect. I can't speak to the crab or lobster, but I would definitely be interested in trying them next time. I just wish there was somewhere to sit; even a table outside would be nice. And what's up with the plastic window? I get that it's part of the place's charm, but come on! Regardless, I'm giving it 5 stars!
Chef Oya's is a small takeout window located next to a liquor store, offering incredible food. You can enjoy corn on the cob, hard-boiled eggs, roasted potatoes, and a selection of seafood, all generously topped with your choice of Chef Oya's delicious butter. Each option is flavorful, and you can select your preferred level of spice to enhance the experience. It's absolutely delicious!
This is saved on my maps as “best seafood in town”. I went once with my man and we drove our happy selves 30+ mins home so we could REALLY enjoy it. pls don’t ever close down
Got two pints of Trap Chowder two shrimp trays to bring my love for lunch. I love the Sweet Chili Thai and Garlic OG Trap Butters as an addition to your meal. The quality and amount of food you get for what you pay is amazing— make sure to follow on Facebook for occasional daily/weekly deals. Chef Oya— and Oya’s cooking— are a gift. This is “take with you” food. If there is a wait in line, it’s worth it— don’t forget the Young Bae seasoning for a flavorful addition to already amazing food.
