Best restaurant in Lancashire by far. Friendly and helpful. Wonderful food. I can't find fault well done The Plough.

I had the pleasure of winning the chefs 6 course special menu for 2! I can honestly say it was amazing service! The foot was outstanding, the team were lovely. Each dish was unbelievable! Thank you to the chef and the staff :

Booked a table for 19.30 to have the tasting menu. The food came out really quickly and we’d had all the 6 courses in less than 11/2 hrs! The food was lovely as was the service but the strange thing is, we were asked to move downstairs to the bar as the dining area closes at 8pm!!! If we’d been told this on booking we’d have gone earlier. Maybe this should be mentioned when booking?

My daughter took me to the Plough for lunch for my birthday as except for once it’s always been a positive experience there and we’ve been lots of times as it’s our local. Unfortunately it was very mediocre this time and disappointing if I’m being honest. We both thought that the menu lacked variation especially if it’s a light lunch you want. There were no main salad dishes at all to chose from which isn’t great. There was music playing which is always nice to hear in the background but not this time as one track had lots of bad language in it which would be totally unacceptable for children to listen to. Even I didn’t like it and I swear like anyone else! We will give it a miss for a while and see if they improve. Sad really as it’s nice to have somewhere to eat on your doorstep.
