The Maker Lounge - Hudson

I went to the restaurant for brunch with 5 friends. The service was very slow. Our waiter made a mistake on one drink order and got four out of the six entrees wrong. The food was okay, but not great. I wouldn't go back again.

The Maker is one of the most beautiful, well designed hotel/restaurants I’ve been too in a long time. Third visit and the staff is beyond friendly, knowledgeable and a great vibe overall. Last night ate in the amazing lounge and had two of the best pastas ever. I highly recommend the experiences is worth it all.

This restaurant is incredibly upscale, reminding me of New York City. Although I didn't stay here, I thoroughly enjoyed both the cafe and the cocktail bar.

For years I was curious about this hotel and finally had the opportunity to check it out. I drive through Hudson once a month and vacation in the Catskills area a few times per year. Unfortunately The Maker Hotel the kind of place that gives the Hudson Valley a bad name. Not greeted by anyone when I walked in (at least 7 staff there), wasn’t sure if I should order food at the counter or a table… ended up ordering at the counter. They were out of the maple sausage so my only option was sad little slices of bacon. Was a very sad sandwich and a bizarre experience trying to tell the restaurant staff it was way too small, not as described by the cashier and I wanted to send it back to the kitchen (something I haven’t done in years). It was awkward. I went to look at the lobby and was stopped by some man who was kinda rude and minimized my presence and interest in seeing the hotel. Quite honestly he was someone that many people would describe as pretentious. An all-around difficult experience at this hotel.

We enjoyed lunch, dinner, and drinks at this restaurant. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. It would be great to see more vegetarian options available on the menu.
