Treebeards - Houston

Food was very bland. Excellent customer service and restaurant was very clean. Only food that was good was the mash potatoes. Fried chicken lacked seasoning so the gravy was needed, collards had no flavor at all, red beans and rice were bland, jalapeno bread dry.

Treebeards was excellent. I had never even heard of the place before but my wife insisted that we go as she used to love the food at the downtown location. Gave it a go and let me just say, I won't be tiring my arm out making a roux for my chicken and sausage gumbo again when I can go and order a plate there. I tried her red beans and rice as well and it was amazing. There sauces were great and we got the fried deviled eggs and man how I wish I could have eaten more. On top of that, the service was good. Friendly staff and even when the waiter accidentally took our table number a bit early, he remembered that and brought our food out and apologized. I also tried their double IPA while I was there and I have a new favorite. All in all, it was a great experience and since it was right after we watched Deadpool and Wolverince... it really made the day a great one. 10/10 will eat there again.

We eat here about once a week and the food is always good. Staff is friendly and the menu is reasonably extensive. You place your order and staff brings your food out. Only negative is occasionally the Muzak is too loud, which can make it difficult to hear conversation.

Never get order right. Also, small potions for high prices. The best employees left.

Does NOT have a kids menu, despite what they wrote as their Google description. They have kids options where you take tenders or sides etc. In a smaller portion but it doesn 't say that on their menu, online menu, or ordering menu. How hard can it be to just make a kids menu like every other restaurant so we can order online without calling them? Too complicated and too expensive.
