フィードバックを提供するThis place has delicious bagels and sandwiches. It is a take-away shop, offering many good breakfast and lunch options centered around Bagels and Kolaches. The staff is very nice and energetic. You really have a good experience. We The Bagels are delicious and fresh. Sometimes they run out of jalapeño or garlic / onion, so get there early. You have some good cream cheese mixes. Overall, the food is on site. Skip avançado to the sandwiches as it was very economical and tasteless, definitely not worth 1.50. You would do better with a light pesto for 50 cents. The Baily is not really a New York Bialy- but it was still delicious, adjust your expectations to a Houston version. The coffee is not great, it tastes a little burnt. Probably not her forgiveness. A nice breakfast option for a rich or weekly bagel stop.
If you know, you know. The best bagels in Houston, hands down! The only complaint? I wish they were open late so I could fix my bagel in the afternoon!!
Two warnings: 1. Removing one star for this, even though it's practically impossible for a bagel store DO NOT eat here if you have a severe nut allergy. They have a banana walnut donut that is processed on the same equipment as the rest of their products. I would run the banana walnut first and clean the equipment if I were being allergy conscious, but they are pretty short staffed. They are aware of this and say they have customers with allergies eat there still, but warned me about it when I mentioned a nut allergy. 2. Some bagels like pumpernickel are only available on weekends. That being said, great service I bought bagels for coworkers and service was quick, coffee was hot and flavorful nice medium dark roast), and price was reasonable $3ish for bagels, $2ish for large coffee with creamer).
My husband‘s family is from New York and this is the only place in the city that they will go for bagels. And with good reason. They’re the closest thing you can get to a New York bagel in Houston, with a wonderful chewy texture and a great, thin crust. But, if you needed a better reason to come to Hot Bagel Shop which you shouldn’t because they’re that good it’s the service. They’ve been family owned and operated since 1984, and it shows. Quick story: On the day of the Houston marathon, I placed a pick up order online. They called to personally ask where I was coming from and when I let them know, they told me it was going to be pretty impossible for me to get there in any reasonable amount of time. So I, pregnant human who really wanted bagels for the week, said I’d pick up my little bagels later. When it came time to grab the bagels, I called them to let me know I was on my way, But *gasp* they told me that they were out of everything bagels. But without skipping a beat, they offered me whatever bagel replacements I would like and offered a full refund. No questions asked. That’s how you do business. I walked in and happily handed over a $10 tip. Way to be Hot Bagel Shop! This pregnant gal is very thankful for you and your awesome service.
