Shun Japanese Kitchen - Houston

Really such an amazing experience. Incredibly friendly and competent staff. Each dish was tasty and aesthetically appealing. To our surprise we have the chance to meet the chef and the owner! We wish we had enough room to have the fluffy pancakes! We'll be back! That was a great Sunday fun!

Great experience at Shun last Saturday. Unmistakably Japanese but many dishes have a twist (think lightly caramelized tuna belly! resulting in unique dishes. Service was very attentive, and dishes came out at a gentle pace. Yuzu ceviche and Hama crudo were refreshing. Hamachi kama yaki was substantial size. Beer mussels were good. Cauliflower tempura and toro brulee were amazing.

This place was fantastic. I think I most enjoyed the entryway. The Japanese theme was super strong and intentional. The service was great and the food was super interesting and tasted fantastic. We ordered the wagyu which was so delicious and just melted in the mouth. If you're looking for a higher end place where you'll spend a lot of money but get your value, this is the place. I particularly enjoyed the origami swans clipped to the drinks

Whooo... awesome. Love this place. Great food, great service, loved sitting at the sushi bar! Whisky Bone Marrow is to die for! Limited availability, get there early, very nice!!! Sake for sure do the Kiku Masamune cedar aged! Love it!.... lower priced but taste tested (by me) to be great! I will be going back!

My wife and I went here for her birthday. It was a Sunday and we came to try the Japanese pancakes, which they only do from 12 to 5. We did some small plate apps first. The bbq baby back ribs with crispy rice, the dumplings and the pork belly with peach and pickled onions were all awesome. I'm glad we tried the pancakes last as they were good but not exactly what we expected..... we will definitely be back.
