Mary'z Lebanese Cuisine Washington

This restaurant is one of my favorites! Every time I've visited, the service has been outstanding. I always recommend it to my friends. The food is delicious, the shisha is excellent, and the atmosphere is even better.

The bread was good, but the wine pairings didn’t have the traditional flavors we expected. We received about three baskets for the four of us, and when we inquired about the ingredients used to give the pitas their waffle-like aroma, we were told there was just "some sugar" in them. Not very helpful. We ordered the quail, which was truly fantastic. Our waitress informed us that it takes some time to prepare, and we appreciated that. I can’t say enough good things about the quail—if only it had been larger! It was a little difficult to eat down to the bones, but what else can you expect with quail? It was perfectly cooked. The beef tenderloin tacos were decent, but not outstanding. The hummus, on the other hand, was wonderful! Overall, the evening had its highs and lows. The experience would have been better if the waitress had given us the menu within the first 15 minutes instead of leaving us sitting there unsure. But all in all, it wasn't a bad experience.

The atmosphere and food were enjoyable, but the service left much to be desired, except for the waiter who brought our drinks. Unfortunately, our waitress was quite rude and impolite. I would consider returning, as I understand that everyone can have a bad day. However, I firmly believe that customers deserve to be treated with respect, and personal issues shouldn't impact others.

Food, as usual, was excellent. What was lacking was the service. We got our side dishes a good 10+ minutes before our mains were served so they were getting cold by the time we were starting our meal. Overall service was quite slow. Yes, it was a Friday night and the restaurant was busy but not packed and no massive groups that were being served. I am hoping this is a one-off occurrence.

We came for a quick lunch and were interested in trying this restaurant as we hadn’t been before. Staff were exceptionally helpful and nice. Food was very good. We look forward to coming back to try more great dishes!
