Ouachita Mountain Smokehouse

Good barbeque. Not great, but good. All sauces were very sweet, and none were hot enough, but still edible. Also the claw is a little sweet, the potato salad is your typical mayonnaise potato salad, not the super tasty baked potato salad, and the beans were on site. Definitely worth the money!

Loved this place! It's kind of a charming little dive with a view of the driving range. Coming from TX, I'm picky about BBQ and everything was delish (including the desserts sides . Even the tea was fresh tasty. More importantly, you could tell they really care...not just with service to the table, but she (Miss Pauline? offered to refill our teas as we were walking out the door. It makes you want to spread the word to help caring, hard working business owners like this. :

This restaurant has a very homey vibe with exceptional staff. Our hostess was very conversational and we enjoyed a very nice talk and meal. The food was served hot and fresh with plenty of flavor and loved cooked into every bite of our meals. I recommend this place to everyone possible A !

The onion rings were moist, crunchy, sweet, hot and delicious. A half order was enough for a starter for two. We shared the smokehouse platter (pulled pork, brisket, sausage, rib, 2sides mac&cheese and texas toast. All the meat was fall off the bone tender and flavorful. So good we went back to try the chicken and loaded potato.

However, I need to update my review based on my last visit in 2019. This place used to serve such delicious food, especially the grilled items, but my recent experience was disappointing. I sat at my table for about ten minutes without anyone attending to me, so eventually I had to get my own menu and cutlery, and even pour my own drink. The service has really declined, and the food quality doesn’t match what it once was. I'm not sure what went wrong; it seems they may have taken on more than they could handle.
