フィードバックを提供するSasabune never failed to amaze me every single time we went! It is definitely on the pricier end of omakase, but it's definitely worth it! I love how they served both a local Japanese style sushi and a Hawaiian-Japanese fusion style sushi. The servers also explained in detail how each sushi is made and the ingredients they got it from. The seafood were just so fresh and it was definitely one of the best omakase experience I've had. We also got the sake and they served really good sakes too! The restaurant is pretty small, so definitely get a reservation in. If you're looking for a great omakase experience, then definitely check out Sasabune!
I had my first omakase experience several years ago at Sasabune, and it was unforgettable. Recently, my girlfriend and I decided to indulge in sushi, and after some research, we chose to revisit Sasabune. We sat at the bar and watched as the talented chefs prepared a variety of exquisite dishes, from appetizers to sashimi to nigiri. The flavors and textures were outstanding, with each course surpassing the last. We tried dishes like uni from Hokkaido, lobster prepared two ways, toro, squid, mackerel, and more. Despite feeling full, we couldn't resist finishing the two remaining courses. The service was exceptional, with constant refills of water and tea and prompt clearing of dishes. The highlight of the meal was a lightly broiled lobster topped with a delicious mayo-based sauce. Even dishes I typically don't enjoy, like uni, were surprisingly tasty. I would definitely return to Sasabune for another special occasion, as it has set the bar high for sushi dining experiences.
This restaurant is without a doubt the most expensive and worst meal I have ever had. In my opinion, even prepackaged nigiri from Nijiya tastes better. Our omakase experience was a complete failure after trying the bitter and mushy uni. To make matters worse, our server even muttered a racial slur when we asked for the check. If you enjoy being served by arrogant and racist staff, then this is the place for you. They are clearly taking advantage of customers and laughing all the way to the bank.
My husband tried the omakase at this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the unique flavors of each sushi roll, which seemed to capture the essence of the island. The homemade ponzu and soy sauce that accompanied the fish added a special touch to the dining experience.
Bring your appetite and do not ask for any condiments lol. This was a real special dinner and we were so full. The chefs prepare the sushi in front of you and they give you detailed directions on what to expect when you put the sushi in your mouth. Just close your eyes and enjoy the moment! The restaurant is super cute and has a lot of character. There is parking in the back or you can opt for street parking. It's very intimate! The chefs have their own character. Just go in person! The pics don't do justice! Just my opinion!! Domo Arigato!!
