Our table had cockroaches crawling around and although it didn't freak us out too much, I do want to mention this for other guests who may be disgusted by this. The cockroaches would come out from under the glass lazy Susan so we're not sure if there's a nest specifically in our table or if it also occurs at the other tables. Cockroaches can also be found crawling along the walls at times. I wish I had gotten some pictures but we were busy catching them So yes I do think this is a sanitary issue that can be improved greatly but overall, still had a good time here with good food! FOOD:Overall, the food is delicious! Especially the honey walnut shrimp. Definitely the best honey walnut shrimp I've had! It's crunchy and the shrimp is very juicy. Portion wise, everything is sizable and enough to share. The White cut chicken dish was also another favorite of mine. The meat was very tender and their green scallion ginger sauce was made well! Very flavorful and overall a great dish. Those two dishes stood out to me the most but the other dishes we had were also great and I didn't hate any of them. SERVICE:Prompt and expected. The place was full so the servers were very busy but still was able to manage our tables well.
I generally avoid places like this for the simple reason that I don't want to eat americanized Chinese food. My group wanted to try this place so here I was. Overall it's better than I expected, but my expectation was set low to begin with. Their menu is all over the place some fujian dishes, some Cantonese dishes, lots of not exactly Chinese dishes (looking at you, orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp). This type of menu isn't usually good news. We tried a couple of things. Lobster in black bean sauce and crab with ginger and onions are large and flavor is decent. Short ribs are just big pieces of fried and lightly salted pork meat. Honey walnut shrimp came with particularly large shrimp. Fried rice is a big plate of...fried rice. As you noticed by now, one standout feature of this place is large portions. The other one is unrefined flavors. Nothing is particularly bad or wrong but there is definitely nothing to write home about either. Will not be back.
Takeout lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii...I had read reviews by Andy F. and Donna O. I told myself that I will dine here one day... Well... I did takeout because my family likes to stay home most times. Haha!Located between Times Supermarket and Epi ya Bakery, the shared parking lot is busy, but manageable. Service is straightforward and helpful. I noticed the karaoke microphones and asked about them. I was encouraged to sing right away, but I couldn't figure out how to find English songs... Haha!I ordered the lamb with onions as Donna recommended. The meat was sliced thinly and didn't have a gamey taste! My brother in law even ate it... Because he didn't know it was lamb! My mom noticed the celery in it... She likes vegetables!I got the beef with bitter melon for my mom. She liked it because the bitter melon wasn't mushy! The braised E min was good! I liked the way the paper container was lined with foil so that the noodles wouldn't stick to the container! The Orange chicken was tender and tasty! I was pleasantly surprised! The green beans were nice and garlicy! Very flavorful and fresh! The winner was the Honey Walnut shrimp on a bed of crunchy walnuts! They had a thin breading and a slight crisp! They weren't smothered in mayo! Yummy!I liked the environment a lot! I would like to return with a group and maybe try the hotpot!
Best honey walnut shrimp I have eaten. Crispy , great sauce and da bomb. Sweet sour pork was really good as it was also crispy with thick great sauce, bell peppers and onions. House special noodles was crispy noodles with veggies, a little bit of char siu. It could have used a bit more sauce but it was good. The only thing I did not like was the seafood tofu soup that had some shrimp and bits of fish. It had a taste I was not familiar with and did not like. Almost like a chemical taste in it. Probably an ingredient I am not familiar with. Service was good and ample parking as it is in the times, Epi-Ya and Graces lot. Reasonable price and Yes I did enjoy it overall. Each was between 15 and 17 dollars
Tried to order take out food the other day. They got the order incorrect. They added an extra order of crab when we ordered 2. They charged us for three. Other dishes we also ordered. The person answered the phone said two but charged fir three. This is a warning to double check your order twice with the items and cost. We tried to get it corrected but it was still incorrect. We calculated $129 but they said $188.90. We used to order a lot from here before, but they will not have our business. Apparently they have individuals who don't understand English. Just a suggestion to all to double check your order!!!
