I've stayed in much nicer strip clubs and hostels where there were people using drugs. It didn't feel safe at all. I would have preferred to camp on the street.
The place was dirty and uninviting, infested with creepy crawlies. The beds felt like they hadn't been cleaned since 1998. I would rather sleep outside. The lady manager seems to be unpopular with the locals. It's a shame because the city has so much charm.
The bed linens had an unpleasant odor and felt unclean. Whenever I stay in a hotel, I always check for bedbugs, and unfortunately, I found them. We had booked four rooms, but we couldn't stay in this hotel. We left as quickly as we could.
Anelle Jory was so friendly and welcoming! We drove around the island and Anelle took us, fed fresh fruit and tea and made sure that we learned the history of the island and were more than willing to share their knowledge with us! We are so grateful for their hospitality and love that this place is so full of historical significance in such capable hands! Mahalo!-Cate and Olivia
My girlfriend and i showed up super late but the two owners were very sweet about it and had hospitality like nowhere else ive ever stayed. The hotel itself is from 1911, which is why there are a bunch of indoor tourists giving 1 star reviews. If you go on vacation and want a replica of the modern home you left and want to stay inside ignoring this beautiful island you wont appreciate this amazing experience. People looking for an adventurous experience that feels like historical Hawaii will get exactly that. Showers had hot water, rooms had no bugs, they had comfortable beds, old architecture, and a beautiful diverse community. Thank you to the hosts so much you guys made are trip so much fun!!!!
