Sumac Grill - Hinckley and Bosworth

My family and I visited the restaurant on Christmas Eve. There were 8 of us, including my children and grandchildren. The service and staff were exceptional. We mostly ordered the set meal, while the grandkids opted for dishes similar to pizza. I must say, the meal was great value for money and we had a wonderful evening as a large family.

Tonight, we visited Sumac with our two children to celebrate before they start university later this week. The food was excellent, as it always is. We have visited several times this year, both as a couple and with family groups of up to 15 people, and have always been impressed with the food and service. Unfortunately, this time we felt rushed to leave when we arrived around 20:15. It became clear that around 21:00, half of the restaurant was closed off for a private company party. The music was turned off, speeches and presentations began, and the atmosphere completely changed. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, and our family celebration was ruined. Despite spending £95 on our meal, we were out the door in about an hour. The food was great, but we won't be returning. If they had informed us that they were closed for a private party, we would have been happy to come back another time. It's a shame that they have lost potential revenue from us over the next few years, as the food, atmosphere, and staff have always been excellent in the past.

My wife's birthday party of 16 had a great time at this restaurant. Everyone enjoyed the evening, the service, and the delicious food. The staff went above and beyond for us. We will definitely be coming back!

Fabulous freshly cooked food with a great team who really gave great service too. I highly recommend this authentic restaurant, great quality and value too.

First time visit… lovely atmosphere, great service and food was excellent all 3 of us enjoyed everything we ate… Definitely recommend eating here!
