Cattleman Steakhouse - HILLVUE

Took my son & family out for his birthday. I rang & booked a table with a high chair. On arrival no highchair asked about 1 waited another 10 mins then 1 arrived after my 8mth grand daughter slip out the waitress grabbed her by the arm & pulled her out. Was not acceptable. Waitress came and took our order she sat herself down on a chair & started writing???? Ordered garlic bread was told we only get 1 slice per person. Got all drinks but mine waited another 10 mins for that which had lipstick on the glass. I went to the bar they replaced it with another which tasted totally different first 1 was half a nip?? The mains were bought out before the rest of the entrees. 1 steak ordered was medium rare was rare raw. Another ordered medium was rare another ordered came out blue??My grandsons got his nuggets no chips had to ask they were raw also. My son had a hair in his steak. We received our gravy 10 mins after mains. His prawns were frozen no taste at all. His stubby of beer was warm. As you can see in photos all the meals were ineatable. Asked to speak to the chef whom I think is only a cook refused to come see us. A couple who was there before us only got there entree left angry as well. There was a band playing it was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak which we were seated right next to. One waitress was sent home as she was under the influence of drugs. Which left 1 waitress to wait on tables. While the managers sat on the bums drinking wine & beer at the end of the bar. I own a restaurant myself. I would be ashamed to call myself a manager. They should have jumped in & helped. I've never been so disappointed with meals. Never would I return as I told the manager as he didn't care.

Booked a table in the afternoon a few before hand. Upon arrival we were met by what seemed like unorganised wait staff. Rushed to a table sat down and the waitress rushed off before asking to take drink orders. We approached the bar to order drinks and were told wait staff would be over to take our order so we sat down. It took 30 minutes before we got our drinks so we order a garlic bread and mains once the drinks arrived. The garlic bread was thrown on the table by the waitress and she rushed off again. Very ordinary bread. Burnt and not very appetising. Mains finally made it to the table. Each dish looked very poorly finished. The pepper steak which was ordered was meant to be well done but came out almost blue/raw.Signature dish the horns and prawns was not to die for. Prawns were no where close to fresh. Very chewy. The over all dish lacked taste. Chicken schnitzel order with chips and gravy only. Came out with salad and no gravy. Schnitzel was dry and not eaten by the person who ordered it. Creamy garlic prawns with rice. Ordered as a main. Prawns were chewy and tasteless. Rice was very dry and crunchy. Over all experience was very very poor. Paying top shelf price for food you would expect to have some decent service. Will not return here for dinner. And after reading the reviews of 2017 it seems to be a growing trend. Something needs to happen with this place.

We hosted a birthday party at this restaurant and arranged for appetizers for our guests, with the option to order main meals if they desired. We requested to be seated in the back of the restaurant to avoid disturbing other guests, but ended up at the front near the entertainment. Some of the appetizers were burnt on the bottom and inedible. Only three guests decided to order meals (two children and one adult), and the owner rudely approached me because he expected everyone to order main dishes, contrary to our agreement. We felt unwelcome by both owners and were made to feel like we were encroaching on a private event, with the expectation that we would sit quietly and not make any noise. The waitress staff were polite, but one of the bartenders seemed confused and charged incorrect prices for drinks, had trouble setting up tabs, and struggled to communicate effectively with customers. As locals, we all agreed that we would not be returning to this establishment.

I went to this restaurant with some friends and we were very disappointed. Only one person out of the five at our table received the dish they ordered. We started off by ordering drinks and bread, which was fine. However, after waiting for 15-20 minutes for our waitress to come back and take our order, we had to flag someone down as it seemed like there was no wait staff attending to the customers. Two of us ordered the "signature dish" of Prawns and Horns, but were shocked by what we received. The steak was not scotch fillet as stated on the menu, and there was no creamy garlic sauce as promised, just 3 prawns on top. The steak itself was tough and not cooked to our liking. The others in our group also received the wrong sauce and no chips as requested. Instead of homemade steak cut fries, we got skinny french fries that tasted like they came from a fast food chain. Overall, it was a really bad experience and we will not be returning to this restaurant.
