It took us about 30minutes to decide what to order as a few of us struggled with the menu because there wasn't anything that stood out to us it just looked like average food. But we decided to try it and we order Steak Sandwich, Baked eggs with yoghurt, Pannacotta and a tart from the front counter. The tart was served first and it tasted so good. 30minutes later our mains came but it didn't matter as we were chatting. I had the Panacotta which i think is overprice for what its worth, it did not satisfy me. One friend decided to share with me her baked eggs as she couldn't finish it. I had 1/4 of the baked eggs but an hour later i got sick and she too was sick but in a worser condition than me since she ate 3/4 of it... so i don't think we'll be returning..
I went here the other day with a few friends for the first time. The place was quite bigger than your average cafe and was quite busy as well. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I was very indecisive on what to get as the menu was packed with a lot of different items and there also was like a station at the back where the barista's are and has muffins, donuts, buns and the burgers. I did decide to get the baked eggs with chickpea yogurt & a side of a pistachio rose water donut. Both were ah-mazing. Even though it did gave me a bit of stomach upset afterwards :( The others got a continental burger, cheesy toast, pannacottabeef burger and chicken and pancakes. The feedback I got from the others were quite good apart from one which was the pannacotta. It was on a large plate and don't have anymore than a few spoonfuls and was listed for $17. So it was very OP for the amount you get. Overall, the experience was okay
A place recommended to me and I can see why. They seem to have a few venues around Perth, but this one in Highgate had a nice fit out with different levels plus outdoor seating. We went with the fried chicken and pancakes and the sausage with white beans. Both were cracking dishes, the sausage was packed full of flavour and worked well with the beans and accompanying greens, whilst the chicken was crunchy outside and juicy inside. Both dishes came with an egg, which was probably not needed (but happily devoured anyway!) but all in all super tasty and washed down with a damn good coffee as well.
Tried out the fried chicken with buttermilk pancake as I thought it was a weird combination. Sweet and salty at the same time. It was too sweet overall to my likings, just a tad too much maple syrup. A little less maple and it would have been perfect!!
Let's be honest..if you're here you wanna try the chicken pancakes. An MSB signature, it's more like an overwhelming gastronomical experience than a meal - soft and fluffy pancakes topped with maple syrup (I think) and deep fried chicken lightly seasoned with green leaves I never intended to eat. Pair it off with a coffee (all of theirs are flawless) or a fresh juice (hit and miss, depends on season I suppose, and a bit pricey for what you get) Not pictured was the many times I ordered salmon and eggs, or the vegetarian breakfast, which were also great and well priced.
