I had a fantastic experience at Adam Puchta Winery. The staff were both friendly and knowledgeable, making the tasting room feel cozy and welcoming. The wines were absolutely delicious, and I particularly enjoyed some of my favorites from Missouri, especially the Norton and the Vignoles. Adam's Choice has become my all-time favorite! I also tried their cheese and sausage platter, which complemented the wines perfectly. The winery is rich in history and charm, and I appreciated learning about their family traditions and heritage. The scenery was beautiful and serene, and I had a delightful picnic on their lawn with a bottle of wine. I highly recommend Adam Puchta Winery to anyone who loves wine and wants to support a local business.
Having lived in the Northern California Bay Area for years, with Napa just a short distance away, I approached my visit to Hermann for wine tasting with some reservations. However, I quickly realized I had misjudged the experience. Adam Puchta offers an extensive selection, ranging from dry to sweet, and includes both red and white wines, ensuring that everyone in our group found something new to try as well as familiar favorites. We ended up buying several bottles and are excited to share them. One tip: when tasting both reds and whites, I recommend using two glasses. Some of the whites picked up a bit of red, which may have impacted the tasting experience.
I can’t speak highly enough about the woman who did our tasting, and we totally failed at asking her name! (She’s retired military and lives in Jeff City, I hope this helps!! She did an absolutely fabulous overview of not only the wines, took her time talking to us and didn’t rush our tastings, but she also told us the history of the winery and Hermann itself. We walked away feeling like we understood the town better, and with a bigger appreciation for the winery. The wines were great, and the seating outside was extensive. We were worried about it being “one of the big trolley stops” and being crowded with drunk bachelorette partiers. While that may have been the case, if it was, we didn’t even notice. We really enjoyed our time there and talked in detail about coming back with friends and just spending the entire day there.
Fun atmosphere that highlights sweet wines. Nothing serious or complicated to the palate. There pairings are playful and the experience is joyful. You’ll leave with a smile for sure.
