Ruby’s Soul Food - Hazel Crest

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I was disappointed to find that they had run out of food by 5 o'clock. The short ribs I ordered were undercooked. I will give the location in Homewood a try next time, maybe arriving earlier in the day to ensure a better experience.

I was not expecting to have a good meal today. The salad dressing was too salty, the catfish was greasy, and the bread was falling apart. The portions were small for a $20 dish and the macaroni tasted like old, rancid cheese.

I decided to support local businesses by trying out this restaurant, but I was left extremely disappointed. I purchased three chicken dinners yesterday, and the meal was lackluster. The chicken tasted and smelled as if it was not fresh, and the appearance was off-putting. The dish seemed to have an odd taste that I initially attributed to the broth, but it wasn't the cause. The side dishes were disappointing as well - the rice was dry, the cornmeal was undercooked and had a strong flavor, and the vegetables were undercooked and overly seasoned. I spent over $35 on this meal, and for the quality of food that I received, I cannot recommend this place.

Eating is great! I even enjoy the server and the check-out type! very nice and especially he dedicated the guest and made us welcome!

The customer service was excellent very very excellent that is enough to go and try, if you take into consideration the food, somebody's big momma is in that kitchen throwing down... go try it please it is amazing!!!!!!!!Side note nothing is bad everything is good turkey is amazing the short ribs fall off the bone dressing and just everything
