Phipps Tavern - Hayward

My husband and I had a fantastic time at Phipps Tavern! We were a bit hesitant about strip clubs outside of the city, but since we were already in the area, we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was cozy, and no matter where you sat, you could see the stage. The dancers were friendly, engaging, and seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we were. It was refreshing to see a variety of body types represented here compared to the extremely thin dancers in the city. We appreciated the diversity of the performers, making sure there was someone for everyone's taste. Our only issue was that after a few dancers agreed to give us a private dance, they didn't follow through. This might be a rule we weren't aware of, so we just wished they had informed us beforehand. Despite that, we had a great time and wanted to support the hardworking women there. And to the men who come to watch for free, remember to show some respect and not be cheap - these women deserve your support. Special thanks to Lollie and all the other beautiful dancers we interacted with on Friday. We can't wait to come back!

I have fond memories of the wonderful family who owns this restaurant! My best friend and I, who has since passed away (rest in peace), knew them back in the 1980s. It's a shame that I'm now in my 50s.

I went to this restaurant for a bachelor party and had a bad experience with the bartender. He tried to deceive and steal money from four people in our group, assuming we were more intoxicated than we actually were. Every time someone asked for change, the bartender would give them less than what was owed, forcing us to demand the correct amount. For example, when I paid with two $20 bills for two beers and some singles, he only gave me change for one $20. When I confronted him, he reluctantly handed me the rest in singles as if he was hoping I wouldn't notice. He did the same thing to three other members of our party, each with different amounts. The place was decent overall, but the shady behavior of the bartender is a major red flag. Be careful not to get too drunk there, or you might end up losing more money than you intended.

I was looking forward to trying the lasagna, but I left completely satisfied. I would rate it 10 out of 5 stars.
