How cheap is that! Are they making any profit? A piece of cake will cost you more than 5 dollars, but 18 of these custard waffles can satisfy the sweet tooths of 3 people... okay, maybe just two people.... okay, I can eat them all by myself! And I always wonder, where they keep disapearing so quickly. That's how delicious they are. You cannot rate the food based on taste only, you should mind the price, convinience, etc.... Don't worry about the line, it moves quickly and you will get your serving of freshly made waffle puffs with piping hot custard fillings. I have only one regret regarding the Emperor's puffs - and that's I didn't come here EVERYDAY during my trip to Sydney! luna-bento.blogspot.com
Always a massive line up for this so I finally got to try them. Not really sure what all the fuss is about, it just seemed like a puff filled with custard and nothing more. It was more like a hot profiterole minus the chocolate topping. The line moved pretty quickly but there was no interaction between the person behind the counter. Not even a hello or thank you, just a hand reaching out to request money and another to hand over your order. Price was okay for the amount you get but probably wouldn't eat more than 3 to 5 pieces. Would recommend it to custard lovers but probably wouldn't go back.
Whats with all the bad reviews?! Serious what the hell can you get for 35c these days???? people, 35c per puff is not expensive. I reckon its cheap as chips. My colleagues and i walk for 30 mins to Emperor's puffs to get these damn delicious custard balls. The are made fresh and filled with delicious custard. We buy $10 worth every time. Its sweet but not too sweet... put some chocolate on and its almost a mini profiterole. There is a reason why there is always a line, its ****** delicious. If you like custard you'll like this. I had a crappy krispy kreme donut which cost me $3.. there was a small bite of custard... hell could've just got puffs. For the price of a soy latte... you can get 18 puffs.. they put it in a container too. theweekendfoodieeats.blogspot.com
Each time there's a line that's a 5 minute wait and you ask yourself "is it really worth queuing for?". Yes. Yes it is because they taste delicious once they come out FRESH (don't buy it and then eat it an hour later because it'll taste way worse). One of my favourite cheap places for a quick snack.
A big fat zero. I was with some Indian friends the other day and the service was absolutely ridiculous. I understand Sino-Indian relationships are at an all time low but this is Sydney and that sort of discrimination is not allowed here. I'll report you to the council you scoundrels!
